Greetings Road Rally Fans!
This year we have a new name and a fresh look, but our mission remains the same -- to be the biggest annual fundraiser event for the Vergennes Opera House while touring some of the most beautiful scenery and sites of interest that our area has to offer.

As the new name implies, men as well as women drivers are welcome! So are any make, model and year of car or motorcycle. By broadening eligibility and selecting a rally route with lots of scenery, history, social time, ferry rides and a great lunch stop, we anticipate 2010 to be the most successful Rally ever!

Here are some additional details:
- Date, Time and Place: The rally will be held September 25th with morning registration beginning at 8:00 am at the Opera House and cars lining up around the City Park for a 9:00 am send-off.

- Register Early! The first five drivers to register will receive a gift certificate from our friends at Country Home Products.

- Our goal is a minimum of 30 cars. Please encourage friends and family members to join in the fun. We love having new participants and cars in the Rally each year.

- "Go The Extra Mile" Challenge. Registration fees account for only a portion of what we raise each year. The majority of our Rally funds come from our very spirited participants who compete to see who can raise the most money through sponsorships of their car. This year we are offering a First, Second, and Third prize for the biggest fundraisers! See the attached "Extra Mile Challenge" Form for more information.

P.S. $200.00 of the registration fee is considered by the IRS to be tax deductible. Drivers are responsible for the nondeductible

A Little Road Rally History

Started in 1998 by a group of woman serving on the Opera House Board of Directors who also happened to own classic cars, what was then known as the Ladies' Rally was originally conceived as a timed road rally with all female drivers (men could accompany as navigators but the ladies were at the wheel). Each year a new route is selected and a day of fun on the open road is planned.The Rally is the largest and most successful one-day fund-raising event to benefit the Friends of the Vergennes Opera House.

Over the years interest and participation has always been strong and today the Road Rally has expanded to include newer cars, motorcycles and even male drivers! Anyone interested in having fun, visiting some of the hidden corners and scenic byways in our region and raising money for a good cause are invited to register.

To date the Road Rally has raised over $175,000 for the organization that restored and now maintains and operates the historic Vergennes Opera House.
